Silver, 1.25 grams, 20.24 mm. 979-985 AD. Obverse: profile bust right with +EDELRED REX ANGLOR legend. Reverse: Hand of Providence issuing from clouds dividing alpha and omega with +IZVLF M-O EOFER legend for the moneyer Isulf at York mint. S. 1144; N. 766; the moneyer not recorded for this type in the Early Medieval Corpus at the Fitzwilliam Museum and known from only two examples of the First Small Cross type, EMC 1998.2122 and EMC 1007.0260). Good very fine, unrecorded moneyer for the type, the moneyer extremely rare.
