Roman 'Decorated' Red Ware Platter
Ceramic, 1.1 Kg, 32 cm wide (12.5 inches). Circa 1st-4th century AD. A very large red-ware platter with heavy stepped rim; the central motif a star of five palm leaves surrounded by seventeen roundels; four concentric circles impressed into the tondo with a wide impressed hatched border. Very fine, without damage or repair. Provenance: from an old English collection, found North Africa.

Roman 'Terracotta' Dish
Ceramic, 290 grams, 16.5 cm. Circa 2nd-3rd century AD. A shallow dish in fine greyware fabric with low basal ring to the underside and pronounced carinated profile. To the centre is a lightly-stamped double ring of billets. Very fine condition, calcareous accretion to the underside. Provenance: from an old English collection.
