Roman 'Moulded' Lion Mount
Terracotta, 81 grams, 17.5 cm. 2nd-3rd century AD. A flat-backed moulded figure of a lion in red terracotta; the creature depicted facing the left, the full mane with detailed locks, the mouth wide open, the body with moulded fur detailing and pronounced musculature. Fair condition, the limbs not present. Provenance: ex property of a European gentleman living in the UK; formerly in a private collection formed in the 1990s.

Ceramic, 19.4 kg, 61 cm. 6th-7th century AD. A large biconical storage jar with broad neck and thick, everted rim; the body ornamented with concentric ribs; supplied with custom-made stand. Very fine condition, some abrasion to surface, complete. Provenance: from an old Suffolk collection.
