Anglo-Norman 'Double Loop' Strap Junction
Iron, 7.55 grams, 30.20 mm. 11th-12th century AD. A double-loop mount for joining two straps comprising a rounded rectangle with a circular central void, from which issue four zoomorphic features. The outer bars forming the end loops are each held in the jaws of two beasts, whose necks join at the central panel and cross to form a double spiral whorl.
