Anglo-Saxon 'Cruciform' Brooch
Copper-alloy, 75 grams, 130 mm. Circa 5th-6th century AD. A large example with square headplate with asymmetrical knops (two half-round, one full-round), deep carinated bow with facetted ends, remains of lateral lappets and collared footplate, animal-head finial with strong central rib, remains of pin-lug and catchplate on reverse. Good fine condition, composite from original elements.
