Anglo-Saxon 'Double Scrolled' Zoomorphic Mount
Gilt copper-alloy, 4.80 grams, 33.69 mm. Circa 6th century AD. A zoomorphic chip carved mount with ribbed detailing on opposed s-scroll motifs, the outer ends becoming stylized, inward-looking animal heads and the central portion surmounted by two pellets within circular cells.
