Anglo-Saxon 'Globular' Pin Head
Copper-alloy, 2.72 grams, 17.08 mm. 7th-9th century AD. A hollow spherical bulb with three sets of heart-shaped double-scroll filigree in the upper and lower hemispheres. A narrow pierced collar enclosed the pin, which was lost in antiquity. Similar to the find from Bredfield, Suffolk. Reference: West, S.
