Rare Anglo-Saxon 'Interlace' Bronze Strap-End
Bronze, 9.16 grams, 47.05 mm. Circa 6th-8th century AD. A cast bronze strap-end formed as a tongue-shaped plate and square-section socket with attachment pin; the mouth of the socket ribbed; the interlace a continuous chain with stylized animal-head detail. Very fine condition, small casting flaws to face. Provenance: from a private collection formed in the 1990s.
