Anglo-Saxon 'Pellet Motifs' Annular Brooch
Copper-alloy, 11.05 grams, 46.48 mm. Late 5th-6th century AD. A good example of an early Anglo-Saxon annular brooch, this one is unusual in having the hoop overlapped by 16.8 mm and pierced for the pin (not present). A second ovoid piercing is near the outer edge of the upper level of the overlap. The inner and outer edges are punched with pellet motifs. Reference: West. S.
