Anglo-Saxon 'Punched' Annular Brooch Pair
Copper-alloy, 18.79 grams total, 48.63-50.51 mm. 6th century AD. A pair of flat-section annular brooches. One features two lines of punched horseshoe motifs, hole to the centre of the plaque to accept the pin. The other brooch features four groups of radiating transverse strokes and two lines of opposed triangular stamps, ferrous remains of the pin. Reference: MacGregor, A. & Bolick, E.
