Anglo-Saxon 'Round Bow' Casket Key
Copper-alloy, 11.22 grams, 47.20 mm. 10th-11th century AD. A neat cast key comprising a discoid bow with integral suspension loop developing into a circular shaft with a locating hole in the forward end, and a toothed left edge to the bit. The key is made for right-handed operation with clockwise rotation. reference: cf. voided-bow key from Barham in West, S.
