Anglo-Saxon 'Silver Filigree Class A2' Strap End
Copper-alloy, 4.40 grams, 22.07 mm. 8th-9th century AD. A Class A2 convex-sided strap end with two domed silver rivets. The surface bears inlaid fine silver filigree s-scroll decoration in two symmetrical panels. The piece is broken above the animal-head finial. Reference: Thomas, G.
