Copper-alloy, 5.28 grams, 23.76 mm. Circa 5th-6th century AD. The piece is the headplate and upper bow of a square-headed brooch with most of the gilding still present. The outer border is decorated with fine pellet punchmarks on all three edges. The bow features seven ribs, the central one thicker and wider. There is a plain panel on the hedplate within which is a recessed panel with a decorative rectangular border enclosing a chip-carved Style I
