Anglo-Scandinavian / Viking 'Knotwork' Strap Connector
Copper-alloy, 8.93 grams, 29.55 mm. 10th-11th century AD. A heavy cast connector formed as a central pierced roundel with D-shaped ends. The outer edges are formed as sturdy bars to which straps could be attached. The design includes a simple knot on the central disc.
