Bronze Age Amlash 'Type I' Tanged Spearhead
Copper-alloy, 360 grams, 349 mm. 1200-1100 BC. An Amlash Type 1 spearhead with a leaf-shaped blade, thick rectangular-section midrib, expanding shaft and narrowing rectangular-section tang with transverse button. Reference: Khorasani, M.M. Arms and Armour from Iran - The Bronze Age to the End of the Qajar Period, Tuebingen, 2006 items 279-80 (and item 277 for the transverse button). Very fine condition; the surface has been professionally conserved. Provenance: from an old English collection formed in the 1980's.
