Bronze Age Amlash 'Type 2' Short-Tanged Short Sword Blade
Copper-alloy, 145 grams, 251 mm. 1200-1100 BC. An Amlash Type 2 long leaf-shaped blade, rectangular-section midrib and vestigial flat tang; five rivet holes cluster around the junction with the shaft. Reference: Khorasani, M.M. Arms and Armour from Iran - The Bronze Age to the End of the Qajar Period, Tuebingen, 2006 item 283. Very fine condition. Provenance: from an old English collection formed in the 1980's.
