Bronze Age 'Ledge-Handled' Jug
Ceramic, 1.01 kg, 15cm. Circa 3rd millennium BC. A pink buffware jar of globular form with short neck and broad everted rim. From the equator emerge two upturned ledge handles, and below the neck on each face are two small conical pinches. Reference: Amiran, R. Ancient Pottery of the Holy Land, Jerusalem, 1969 p.26 item 22, pinches plate 11 (18) and ledge handles on plate 9 (17). Very fine condition. Provenance: from an old collection.
