Bronze Age Luristan 'Lanceolate' Spearhead
Copper-alloy, 660 grams, 44.5 cm. Circa 2nd millennium BC. A large leaf-shaped spearhead of the 'Type 5' group, with thick median rib and long tang. Reference: cf. Muscarella, O.W. Bronze and Iron. Ancient Near Eastern Artifacts in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, 1988 item 171. Very fine condition. Provenance: from an old English collection.
