Bronze Age Marlik 'Type VI' Short Sword Blade
Copper-alloy, 185 grams, 331 mm. 1200-1100 BC. A Marlik Type VI triangular blade, thick rectangular-section midrib and narrow rectangular-section tang. Two attachment rivets are in place close to the lower corners of the blade. Reference: Khorasani, M.M. Arms and Armour from Iran - The Bronze Age to the End of the Qajar Period, Tuebingen, 2006 p.628. Very fine condition. Provenance: from an old English collection formed in the 1980's.
