Byzantine 'Enamelled' Cross Pendant
Copper-alloy and enamel, 20.99 grams, 89.07 mm. 4th-9th century AD. A large, flat cast pendant in the shape of a cross pattee with an integral transverse suspension loop. At the junction of the arms is a slightly raised disc with traces of red enamel, with further traces on the upper arm. Reference: cf. pendant crosses in Platonov, M.S.
