Copper alloy, 7.49 grams; 44.93 mm. Circa 1st century AD. A flat plate brooch based on the ken-back scroll, similar to a capital S. The body is detailed with five enamelled cells of which three have red enamel still intact. Ref: Celtic & Roman Artefacts by Nigel Mills, RC31. Celtic Art by Ruth and Vincent Megaw, plate XXII. A rare piece in very fine condition complete with pin. Found Lincolnshire.
