Extremely Rare Constantine I (The Great) 'Sol' Follis
Bronze, 3.34 grams, 24.49 mm. Trier. 313-315 AD. Obverse: IMP CONSTANTINVS AVG, laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right. Reverse: SOLI INVIC-TO COMITI, Sol standing left, chlamys across left shoulder, holding globe and raising right hand, T-F across fields. Mintmark PTR in exergue. RIC VII Trier 39; cf Sear (1988) 3868 and Sear 3881. Rated R4 in RIC. Good very fine. A significant coin which has been published on wildwinds.com
