Corieltauvi 'Hostidius' Boar & Horse Silver Unit
Silver, 1.16 grams; 15.39 mm. Circa 55-45 BC. Corieltauvian B. Obverse: boar right, spear pierces back, elaborate anemone above, tail has counter clockwise curl, 'S' object below, elaborate spiral above head. Reverse: Celticized horse left with large ring of pellets above. Celtic Coin Index Registration Number at Oxford University: CCI 09.3002. VA. 855-3; S. 396. [Van Arsdell classified this coin as extremely rare]. Very fine and better with a dark ancient tone. Found Lincolnshire.
