Flint, 100 grams, 99.23 mm. Circa 5,000 BC. Of rectangular cross-section, tapering from a thin butt to a slightly convex cutting edge. In a pinkish flint, with fine quality polishing to the two broader faces. Reference: Ashmolean Museum Antiquities From Europe & The Near East in the Collection of the Lord McAlpine, page 66 for similar examples. Provenance: from an old Continental collection, found in Denmark. Attractive with slight damage to the cutting edge and butt.
