Early Anglo-Saxon 'Portrait' Sceatta
Silver, 1.18 grams, 11.35 mm. Series D, Type 2c; circa 680-710 AD. Obverse: unusual crude bust right with uncertain letters (APA?) behind. Reverse: pellet-ended cross with a pellet in each angle with symbols and letters around. S. 839; Thrymsas and Sceattas volume 2, page 184. Very fine and better.
