Excessively Rare Early Celtic 'Dragonesque' Brooch
Copper-alloy, 14.28 grams, 62.34 mm. Mid 1st century AD. A rare example of an unusually large and wide bodied Romano-British Dragonesque brooch. The body is decorated with three red stone or coral beads held in place by a thin metal border, some of which is still intact. The neck is long and round in section with a large flat head terminal detailed with a stone or coral bead held in by a large rivet.
