Egyptian 'Anubis' Amulet
Glazed powdered quartz composite (faience), 0.49 grams, 15.43 mm. Saite Period 664-525 BC. A pale green amulet of Anubis, the jackal-headed god of embalming who had to be propitiated to ensure entry into the afterlife. Made with a transverse piercing for suspension. Andrews, C.
