Egyptian 'Khnum' Amulet
Glazed powdered quartz composite (faience), 0.63 grams, 15.77 mm. Twenty-sixth to Thirtieth Dynasties circa 664-343 BC. A pale blue amulet depicting Khnum, the ram-headed creator god who caused the Nile to rise and fertilize the adjoining lands. Made with a transverse piercing behind the shoulders for suspension.
