Egyptian 'Min' Amulet
Faience, 0.85 grams, 25.14 mm. Circa 26th Dynasty 664 BC. A pale green amulet depicting the god Min, the wind, whose presence could only be shown by the ruffled feathers of the plumed headdress. The god's right arm is raised to wield a flail while his left clutches his groin. Made with a transverse piercing for suspension. Reference: Andrews, C. Amulets of Ancient Egypt, London, 1994, pl.11.
