Egyptian 'Multiple Wedjat Eye' Third Intermediate Period Amulet
Glazed powdered quartz composite (faience), 0.15 grams, 6.62 mm. 11th-10th century BC. 3rd Intermediate Period (21st-25th Dynasties). The wedjat is the symbolic eye of the god, Horus, son of Osiris and the creator deity; the god's eyes are associated with the sun and moon. The piece combines four such eyes into a single, powerful symbol. It is in deep blue-black faience, with openwork centre and transverse piercing. Reference: Andrews, C.
