Egyptian 'Papyrus Fronds' Amulet
Faience, 1.13 grams, 16.82 mm. Late Dynastic Period, circa 715-332 BC. A creamy white amulet depicting papyrus fronds, symbolic of spring, renewed life and thus of resurrection. The amulet has three circular piercings in the top extending to a single rectangular slot in the base. Reference: Andrews, C. Amulets of Ancient Egypt, London, 1994, p.81-2.
