Glazed powdered quartz composite (faience), 0.33 grams, 10.21 mm. Third Intermediate Period 1069-702 BC. A pale green amulet of a sow with characteristic arched back and dangling teats. The sow was among the animals sacrificed to Osiris annually and represented the night sky with its litter of stars. Made with a transverse piercing for suspension. Reference: Andrews, C.
