Egyptian 'Multiple Wedjat Eye' 12th Dynasty Amulet Bead
Glazed powdered quartz composite (faience), 0.19 grams, 7.71 mm. 11th-10th century BC. 12th dynasty to Ptolemaic periods (1991 BC to 30 BC). The wedjat is the symbolic eye of the god, Horus, son of Osiris. The multiple-eye amulet formed the model for a thick cartouche with ribbed detail. The piece is in green faience, made with a transverse piercing for suspension. Reference: Flinders Petrie, W.M.
