Egyptian 'Wedjat Eye' Openwork Amulet
Glazed composition, 3.46 grams, 28.55 mm. Third Intermediate Period, 1069-702 BC. An openwork bead pierced transversely for suspension. The border features a dentilled edge. The central design is the wedjat or 'Eye of Horus' with black pigment to the pupil. Reference: Andrews, C. Amulets of Ancient Egypt, London, 1994 fig.46(f). Fine condition. Provenance: from an old English collection; acquired before 1980.
