Billon, 12.85 grams, 24.85 mm. Antioch, Syria, unknown engraver type. 219-220 AD. Obverse: AVT K M ANTWNEINOC CEB, laureate head right, slight drapery on left shoulder, one ribbon over shoulder, three dots above. Reverse: DHMARX EX UPATOC TO B, eagle standing facing, head right, holding wreath in its beak, star between legs, delta-epsilon across upper fields. Prieur 266; cf Sear SGI 3096; cf Sear (1988) 2141. Near extremely fine, reverse slightly not struck up. A significant coin which has been published on wildwinds.com
