English Made 'Gold Half Joe' Two Escudos Coin Weight
Copper alloy, 6.69 grams, 19.44 mm. Circa 18th century AD. A coin weight used to weigh the gold two escudos or half joe with the British value of eighteen shillings. Marked on both sides with an S over 18 within a decorated border. Ref: Lions, Ships & Angels by P and B. R. Withers, page 55. A good weight in very fine condition.
