Georgian 'Type V' Door Key
Iron, 35.26 grams, 128.07 mm. 19th century AD. A massive cast door key with an elliptical bow, solid shank and sturdy bit of expanding section. A series of cast decorative collars is placed on the shank. The bit is divided into rectangular and triangular wards. Reference: London Museum Medieval Catalogue 1940. Very fine condition. Provenance: from an old English collection.
