Greek Apulian 'Floral Garland' Black-Glazed Oinochoe
Ceramic, 215 grams, 141.82 mm. Circa 4th century BC. A pretty Apulian oinochoe or wine-jug in silvery black glaze with a single looped handle, scrolled rim, bulbous belly and stepped foot, with red and white slip floral garland decoration on the neck and ribbed band below. Two small chips to rim otherwise extremely fine condition, complete. Provenance: from an old English collection, found Apulia, Magna Graecia, South-eastern Italy.
