Greek Apulian 'Looped Bridge Handled' Black-Glazed Skyphos
Ceramic, 23.81 grams, 106.38 mm across handles. Circa 4th century BC. An Apulian skyphos with globular belly, stepped foot and two handles formed with straight arms and a looped bridge, the body decorated in red ochre slip with wave design on the rim and two lines below. Repair to one handle, otherwise good very fine condition. Provenance: from an old English collection, found Apulia, Magna Graecia, South-eastern Italy in the 19th century.
