Greek Apulian 'White Meander Motif' Black-Glazed Thistle Mug
Ceramic, 165 grams, 114.74 mm. Circa 4th century BC. An Apulian thistle-mug in black glaze with red and white ochre slip decoration on the neck, in the form of a white meander below a red band, yellow roundels and white ovolo; the foot stepped, the belly ribbed. Extremely fine condition, complete. Provenance: from an old English collection, found Apulia, Magna Graecia, South-eastern Italy.
