Excessively Rare Hiberno-Norse 'Punched' Gold Finger Ring
Pale gold [Electrum], 1.63 grams, 20.64 mm ext.dia. (British size V½, USA 10¾, Europe 24.40) 9th-11th century. A Viking finger ring formed as a single lozengiform sheet. The flat hoop expands to a broad bezel with repoussé roundels along the outer edges and rows of punched-point detailing in the middle. The ends of the hoop are twisted about each other.
