Very Rare Iron Age Catuvellauni Cunobelin ‘Lyre Player’ Celtic Silver Unit
Silver, 0.92 grams, 11.32 mm. Very rare ‘Lyre Player’ silver unit, early 1st century AD - circa 40 AD. Obverse: female bust right, hair in bun on nape, TASC behind, IIOVANII in front, most of inscription off flan. Reverse: seated lyre player right, CUNOBE(LI) in front. References: ABC 2867, VA 2059, BMC 1879-82, S. 314. Very fine in good silver. Found Essex, UK.
