Copper-alloy, 30.38 grams; 56.59 mm. Circa 10th-11th century AD. A good example of a Class A Type 8 Anglo-Scandinavian mount, featuring an animal-head at the apex of the sub-triangular face and further heads at the base. The sides are formed from two rampant beasts whose forelegs nearly meet below the central piercing. The pair of rivets at the base are intact. Reference: Williams, D.
