Late Anglo-Saxon/Viking 'Floriate' Stirrup Mount
Copper-alloy, 17.10 grams; 38.14 mm. Circa 10th – 11th century AD. A pentagonal Anglo-Scandinavian mount with incised decoration in the shape of a central fleur-de-lys and lateral animal-heads. The apex loop was lost in antiquity; the single lower rivet is still in situ. Reference: Williams, D.
