Late Anglo-Saxon / Viking 'Type 13' Stirrup Mount
Copper-alloy, 16.34 grams, 46.46 mm. 11th century AD. A cast stirrup mount of Williams’s Type 13 formed as a pentagonal plate with central lozengiform recess. There is a hole in the upper pentagonal lobe, another above the base and two more in the lateral lobes with domed rivet-heads. There is a broad ledge to the rear with stepped corners.
