Copper-alloy, 31.24 grams, 54.12 mm. Circa 11th century AD. A sub triangular Anglo-Scandinavian mount of Williams’s Class A Type 10 bearing decoration in the Urnes style, from the apex of a rider’s stirrup. The central panel bears the standard form of coiled serpent which is characteristic of the later 11th century Urnes art style. Reference: Williams, D.
