Bronze, 230 grams, 125 mm. Late Bronze Age; 1,200-500 BC. Medium size cast socketted axe with large loop to assist tying the head to the haft. The cutting edge slightly convex and the socket most unusualy cutaway to fit the form of the haft. Reference: J. Evans Bronze Age Implements. Very fine and rare form.
