Late Medieval 'Architectural' Etui
Pewter, 5.73 grams, 31.43 mm tall. Circa 16th century AD. Of hollow cast form in 'architectural' style, with ridges and rosette ornament plus moulded Gargoyle-head projections to each side. This rare item is the cap or lid from an etui (or container) for holding needles or pins. Reference: Egan Playthings From The Past, figure 54 for an etui body of this type. Very fine condition.
