Bronze, 1.80 grams, 18.76 mm. Nicomedia. 317-320 AD. Obverse: DN VAL LICIN LICINIVS NOB C, laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right. Reverse: PROVIDENTIAE CAESS, Jupiter standing left, chlamys across left shoulder, holding Victory on globe, and leaning on sceptre. Palmbranch in left field, dot over epsilon in right field, mintmark SMN in exergue. RIC VII Nicomedia 34 (R1); Sear -. Extremely fine. A significant coin which has been published on wildwinds.com
