Large Marlik Bronze Age 'Type VI' Tanged Spearhead Copper alloy, 115 grams; 260.14 mm. Circa 14th-10th century BC. Type VI spearhead with a long blade and short tang. The blade has a long tapering shape with curved shoulders a gentle curve near the point. There is a rivet hole at the base of the small flat tang for securing the butt. Ref: similar to one found at the Marlik Royal Cemetery by Dr. Negahban in Tomb 12, trench XII E; see Negahban (1995:67; plate IX, 114), Arms and Armor from Iran by Manouchehr Moshtagh Khorasani, page 627; cat. 273. A very good example in very fine condition. Ex old English collection.
