Medieval 'Incised' Dagger Guard
Copper-alloy, 11.0 grams, 36.74 mm. Circa 14th-15th century AD. A cast copper-alloy hilt guard comprising a rectangular central panel with gently tapering extensions to each side. The centre is pierced with a rectangular slot to accept the blade's tang. The lateral faces are lightly incised with linear borders and the central panels feature outline crosses.
